OnGreen.com Launches Clean Deals Marketplace
Los Angeles-based CleanGreenGuy.com, which operates an online marketplace for green business deals, said it has renamed itself OnGreen.com, and is live with its new service. The site allows users to post green investment and business deals, find investors, and connect with others in the clean technology sector. Demand Media Ties With Tyra Banks On Beauty, Fashion Site
Los Angeles-based Demand Media, the online media firm headed by Richard Rosenblatt, announced today that it has inked a partnership with celebrity model Tyra Banks, to create a new site focused on fashion and beauty. According to Demand, Banks' beauty and entertainment firm Bankable is in a deal to develop a Web site, online video offerings, and mobile applications. TCA: $11.5M In Deals In Q1
The Tech Coast Angels is reporting this morning that it participated in over $11.5M in funding deals, including both angel and venture deals, in the first quarter. The deals included investments in Cyber-Rain, Benchmark Revenue, Allylix, Vigilistics and H2Scan. Hulu Details Subscription Service
Los Angeles-based Hulu, the video streaming site which features television and other content from major content providers, has finally released details on its rumored subscription service, Hulu Plus. Hulu said on its web site that the subscription service will give access to more shows via the iPhone, iPad, TV, and elsewhere for $9.99 a month, and that the service is slated to go live in July. BUZZMEDIA Snags Editors From PopEater, TMZ
Hollywood-based BUZZMEDIA, the venture backed online entertainment content network, has snagged two editors for a new, yet-to-be launched celebrity site, the firm said today. According to BUZZMEDIA, it has hired on Mike Hess, formerly Managing Editor of AOL's entertainment news site PopEater, and Gillian Sheldon, former founding supervising producer at TMZ.com, to help build out a new "celebrity project" it will unveil in the fall. AqueSys Gets $35M
Irvine-based AqueSys, a developer of medical devices for the treatment of glaucoma, said today that it has raised $35M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by Longitude Capital and Rho Ventures, and also included Accuitive Medical Ventures, The Carlyle Group and SV Life Sciences. AqueSys develops, manufactures, and distributes implants for glaucoma, which are use to treat the disease in a minimally invasive way.

Nirvanix Releases Hybrid Cloud Storage Service
San Diego-based Nirvanix said today that it has launched a "hybrid" cloud storage service brings cloud storage to companies within their own data center. According to Nirvanix, the new service is specifically targeted at companies who have stringent corporate and legal data retention policies, who want to take advantage of cloud storage but cannot transfer that data outside their facilities. RealD Sets IPO Pricing Range
Beverly Hills-based RealD, which develops 3D projection technology used in the showing of 3D movies, has set its estimated IPO pricing range at between $13.00 and $15.00 per share, according to an updated S-1 by the firm. RealD, which is looking to IPO on the New York Stock Exchange as RLD, said it will offer 10.75M shares of its common stock in its offering, which would raise up to $161M in the IPO for the firm and its shareholders. Autobytel Launches Car Buying Service
Irvine-based Autobytel said today that it has launched a new car buying service, in a partnership with Autoland. Autobytel said that its new AutoPilot car buying service is focused on consumers who are receiving financing from a local credit union or bank. Autoland is a credit union auto buying service which provides credit union members with "no-haggle" pricing and pre-set appointments. Xirrus Wins Local School District
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, which develops Wi-Fi networking devices, reported today that it has deployed its Wi-Fi arrays at the Corona-Norco Unified School District. The firm said the district is using its 802.11n Wi-Fi arrays at several of its schools. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. The school said that it selected Xirrus because of the ability to handle user density provided by classrooms. FavRav Connects Facebook, Local Business Reviews
Westlake Village-based FavRav is hoping to leverage the popularity of social networking site Facebook to help local businesses find new customers. According to FavRav, it has launched a new social media tool targeted at small businesses, to help those businesses generate referrals from existing customers.
