BetterWorks Bumps Round Size
Santa Monica-based BetterWorks appears to have bumped the size of the funding round it announced in August, according to a regulatory filing from the firm Wednesday. According to the filing, BetterWorks is now looking to raise a total of $9.14M in the firm's Series A round, which had been announced in August. BetterWorks had said it had raised $8.0M in the round at that time, led by Redpoint Ventures. ImThera Medical Snags $16M
San Diego-based ImThera Medical, a developer of medical devices to treat sleep apnea, has raised $16M in an initial funding round from publicly held Cyberonics, plus its other investors Cyberonics said Wednesday. ImThera is developing an implantable, neurostimulation device which can treat obstructive sleep apnea. The Series C funding round includes $12M from Cyberonics, with the remaining $4M from its existing investors. Cyberonics also gains a seat on ImThera's board.

Factual Launches App Gallery
Los Angeles-based Factual, the data startup headed by Google AdSense inventor Gil Elbaz, said Wednesday that it has launched a new gallery of apps using data from the service. Factual said its Factual App Gallery showcases the many applications which are using data from the service, including its database of places and businesses. Hulu Inks Deal With Univision
Los Angeles-based Hulu is reporting today that it has inked a deal with Univision, to carry "hundreds of hours" of Spanish language novelas and other content to the video streaming site. Financial details of the deal between Hulu and Univision were not announced. Hulu CEO Jason Kilar said that the firm is looking to target the 50 million strong Hispanic population in the United States, the fastest growing community in the United States, with the arrangement. Xirrus Launches Chassis-based Wireless Switch
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus is expanding its product line today, saying that it has launched a new, chassis based modular wireless switch. The firm, which develops switched WiFi hardware which is particularly useful in dense environments or where users need better bandwidth and performance, said its new XR-Series Wireless Arrays allow users to add modules to grow their wireless networks over time. Local.com Launches New Product
Irvine-based Local.com is extending out its products aimed at small and medium sized businesses today, saying it has launched a new product called Exact Match. the firm said the new product adds geo-targeted and optimized keyword advertising; a mobile website; Facebook and Twitter accounts; and increased brand advertising on its display ad network. Gorilla Nation Ties With Spil Games
Los Angeles-based Gorilla Nation, the provider of online advertising representation services, said today that its Canadian arm has inked a partnership with Spil Games. Gorilla Nation Media Canada said it will provide online advertising sales for Spil Games's sites Agame.com, GirlsGoGames.com, GirlsGoGames.fr, Jeu.fr and Jeux.fr.
