SHIFT Aims At Social Advertising Analytics
Santa Monica-based advertising analytics startup SHIFT launched a new product Wednesday, aimed at helping marketers analyze social advertising campaigns. The startup, led by James Borow, said its new product, SHIFT Media Analyzer, is aimed at helping marketers with in-depth analysis of their paid social campaigns. Maker Studios Buying Blip
Los Angeles-based YouTube network Maker Studios has agreed to buy Blip, according to reports today. Blip operates an online, video site focused on webseries. Financial details of the acquisition have not been announced. Blip was venture backed by Ambient Sound Investment, Bain Capital, and Lauder Partners. News of the sale first came via AllthingsD.

JustFab, ShoeDazzle In Big Fashion Merger
Los Angeles-based fashion sites JustFab and ShoeDazzle said Wednesday that the two are in a definitive agreement to merge, bringing together two of LA's most watched fashion and subscription e-commerce sites. redIT Gets $72M Investment For Data Center Expansion
San Diego-based managed IT services provider redIT said Wednesday that it has raised $72M in a funding round. The company, which provides managed IT services, connectivity, and data centers spread between the southwestern U.S. and Mexico, said the funding came from Cartesian Capital Group and Digital Realty. redIT said it will use the funding to increase its physical infrastructure, and specifically for expanding its data center operations throughout Mexico and the southwestern United States. re (More info...)

Surf Air Links Up With Snack, Beverage Companies
Flying between Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, and have the nibbles? Los Angeles-based all-you-can-fly, membership-based airline Surf Air said today that it has linked up with a number of snack and beverage brands, as part of its service, and will be featuring those brands as part of its flights. AeroVironment Selected By Fiat For Charging Stations
Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment has been selected by another auto manufacturer, to provide charging stations for its electric car customers. According to AeroVironment, Fiat has selected the company to provide charging stations for the new, all-electric Fiat 500e. Bedloo Takes On Social Voting
A new, Los Angeles startup, Bedloo, said this morning that it has launched a new social voting service, which lets users collect feedback from other users. The new social voting service revolves around voting on images, video, and audio files. According to the startup, it is a "voting app and website on steroids", and is aimed at encouraging interaction with friends and family via social media. Bedloo's service is available both through the startup's website, or also through an iOS application.

Local Corporation Names New VP
Irvine-based online directory provider Local Corporation announced this morning that it has named Jesus Gaytan as its new Vice President of Product Management. Gaytan joins the company from MobTame, and also has served as Director of Product for The Walt Disney Company. Gaytan also served at Yahoo. Local said that Gaytan will lead the company's product management and development initiatives.
