Vcorp Services Acquired By Wolters Kluwer
Los Angeles- and New York-based Vcorp Services, the provider of business formation and other corporate legal services, has been acquired by Wolters Kluwer Governance, Risk & Compliance, a Netherlands-based provider of risk and compliance services. Alteryx Tries Its Hand At Election Politics Prediction
Irvine-based data analytics software developer Alteryx is trying its hand at election predictions, saying on Friday that it has started offering up detailed, local predictions for the presidential elections, drawing on data collected via SurveyMonkey. The company said it is combining such information as age, education, income and race, plus micro targeted survey information, to make "hyper-local" predictions of the race. Jam City Hires Two, Including Ex Second Life CEO
Los Angeles-based mobile gaming developer Jam City is announcing this morning that it has hired two executives to the firm, including the former CEO of Linden Lab, the creator of the Second Life virtual world. Techstars Launching Another LA Accelerator, Focused On Music

Rinse Buys The Remains Of Washio
On demand, laundry service Rinse disclosed today that it has acquired the assets of now defunct, on-demand laundry competitor Washio. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Washio had also provided its services in Los Angeles, in addition to Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, New York, and Washington DC. Comcast Launches New Business Venture Centered On Semtech's Wireless Technology
Cable provider Comcast booted up a new trial business venture this week, aimed at the Internet-of-Things market, based on the low power wireless networking technology developed by Camarillo-based Semtech, the company said this week. DTS Acquires Arctic Palm
Calabasas-based audio technology developer DTS said Thursday that it has acquired Arctic Palm Technology, a developer of broadcast radio technology. Financial terms of the acquisition deal were not announced. Arctic Palm wa founded in 1997, and is based in London, Ontario, Canada. Lionsgate Taps OUYA Founder Uhrman As Streaming Media GM
Santa Monica-based entertainment studio Lionsgate said on Thursday that it has named Julie Uhrman to the position of Executive Vice President & General Manager of Lionsgate Over-The-Top (OTT) Ventures, the company's streaming media service. Turtle Beach Launches VR Gaming Headset
San Diego-based Turtle Beach, which develops consumer focused audio products, says it is launching a new gaming headset, specifically aimed at the virtual reality gaming market. Turtle Beach said its new Stealth 350VR gaming headset includes amplified audio, 50mm over-the-ear speakers, bass boost featuers, and more. The new headset has a MSRP of $79.95. Turtle Beach said its new product was specifically built for virtual reality games, and will be available this Sunday.
