Conexant Interoperates With Motive
Newport Beach-based Conexant has completed interoperability testing with Motive, Inc., a developer of device management software for the broadband market. Conexant said that its customer premise equipment chipset solutions have been demonstrated interoperable with Motive's device management software, used by DSL operators to remotely active, configure, and maintain broadband equipment. Soapbox Mobile Hits The House of Blues
San Diego-based Soapbox Mobile said this week that it has been selected by the House of Blues to power wireless interactive marketing efforts. House of Blues will use the Soapbox Anywhere mobile marketing and CRM platform to create personalized interactive mobile campaigns for the popular entertainment firm. Soapbox Mobile develops applications for mobile marketing and advertising. The firm recently raised a Series A round of funding from Equal Elements.

Neven Vision Names CEO
Santa Monica-based Neven Vision has named a new CEO, the company said Wednesday. Alex Cory will serve as its CEO, having most recently served as an advisor to early stage businesses. Cory also was executive vice president at Overture Services. Current CEO and founder Harmut Neven will step into the CTO role at the firm and focus on leading the development of its core technology and products. Language Weaver Adds Farsi Support
Los Angeles-based automated translation software provider Language Weaver has added Farsi support to its translation tool. Language Weaver said that the bidirectional Farsi/English language pair module is now commercially available. Language Weaver already has an Arabic/English translation module available, and although Farsi (Persian) and Arabic share a common character set the languages are not directly transferable due to different usage and sentence structures. iStor Ships iSCSI Storage Controller
Irvine-based iStor Networks announced today that its iSCSI-SATA storage controller is now generally available. The company's GigaStorATX is a integrated storage controller that provides RAID functionality in an ATX form factor. The company is targeting OEMs and manufacturers of storage systems with its systems. The controller supports the iSCSI storage protocol and SATA disk drive technology, and up to 8TB of connected storage.

Disney Targets Adults With New Online Entertainment Site
North Hollywood-based Disney Online has launched a new online entertainment site targeted at adults, Disney's Game Cafe (www.disneysgamecafe.com). The division of Walt Disney Internet Group operates entertainment and educational sites targeted at kids and family; the new site features downloadable games tailored specifically for the adult market. YouBet.com Buys United Tote
Woodland Hills-based online gambling site Youbet.com said today that it has acquired United Tote, a provider of equipment for the industry, for $49M. The deal was approximately $34.2M in cash and the remainder the refinancing of $14.4M of secured debt in United Tote. United Tote provides equipment and terminals for Churchill Downs and New York Racing Association (NYRA) and other racing facilities. United Tote reported $23.0 million in revenue and $2.8 million in EBITDA in 2004.
