Prometheus Files For $100M IPO
San Diego-based Prometheus Laboratories, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on detection, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders, said Wednesday in a filing with the SEC that it is looking to raise up to $100M in an IPO. The IPO is being underwritten by Goldman, Sachs & Co. , Credit Suisse, Banc of America Securities, Cowen and Company, and Pacific Growth Equities. Ticketmaster, NHL Partner On Ticket Resale Service
West Hollywood-based Ticketmaster, the ticketing service owned by Barry Diller's IAC, and the National Hockey League said Wednesday afternoon that the two have entered into a multi-year agreement to create a ticket resale service for the NHL. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Intuit to Acquire Electronic Clearing House, Again
Mountain View-based Intuit and Camarillo-based Electronic Clearing House announced Wednesday afternoon that the two companies have signed a definitive agreement for Intuit to acquire Electronic Clearing House. The deal is worth approximately $131M, and is worth $17.00 in cash for each share of ECHO common stock. Novelics Doubles Space
Aliso Viejo-based Novelics, a developer of embedded memory circuit IP for the semiconductor industry, said Wednesday morning that the firm has moved into new facilities, which are twice as large of the firm's current headquarters. The firm is moving into 85 Enterprise, which is also home to Buy.com and DATAllegro. The firm said the new space will enable it to hire additional employees, and is approximately 8,000 square feet.

Nirvanix Gets Investment From Intel Capital
San Diego-based Nirvanix announced Wednesday morning that it has added Intel Capital as an investor in the firm. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Nirvanix is a developer of an Internet storage service which is accessible through APIs and third party developers, which competes head to head against Amazon's S3 storage service. Jacked Expands Deal With NBC Sports, Discloses Funding
Santa Monica-based Jacked, a venture backed startup developing web applications publishing tools for the broadcast media industry, said today that it has expanded its partnership with NBC Sports and NBCSports.com. Jacked said it will power the NBCSports.com Play Action for "Sunday Night Football" broadcasts. National Lampoon Takes Stake In Social Networking Site
Los Angeles-based National Lampoon, a provider of comedy content for the film, television, audio, and book publishing markets, said Tuesday that it has taken an equity stake in Montreal-based Capazoo. Santa Barbara-babsed Novacoast, a provider of IT services and product development, said Tuesday that it has acquired an IT consulting firm, Eiseman Consulting Group Inc. and RazorShark Technologies, LLC. Eiseman Consulting is an IT consulting provider in New York, focused on email and Novell Groupwise. RazorShark Technologies is a subsidiary of Eiseman Consulting Group. Los Angeles-based online women's web site SheKnows.com, which is owned by AtomicOnline, said Tuesday that it has acquired LovingYou.com, an online marriage and relationship web site. Emulex Gets Design Win With HP
Costa Mesa-based Emulex, a provider of host bus adapters and switches for the storage networking market, said today that its host bus adapters have been qualified for use in HP Integrity rx7640 and rx8640 mid-range servers. The firm's IOC 3532 chips are powering HP-branded, Fibre Channel adapters used for HP'x HP-UX 11i and OpenVMS operating systems running on those systems. Alelo Language Training System Gets Award
Los Angeles-based Alelo, the University of Southern California spinoff which is using computer video game technology to train the military in Iraqi language and culture, said earlier this week that its product has won an award from a defense conference.
