iSuppli Buys Market Research Firm
El Segundo-based iSuppli said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired Wicht Technologie Consulting (WTC), a Munich, Germany-based market intelligence firm. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. iSuppli said it would use the acquisition to create a new photovoltaic and MEMS analysis service. THQ Buys Elephant Entertainment
Agoura Hills-based game publisher THQ said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired Elephant Entertainment, a publisher of casual and online games. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. THQ said it plans to launch more than 20 new casual and online games under the Elephant Entertainment brand name in 2008, and that the business will continue to be led by Elephant Entertainment President and COO Wim Stocks. WCSN In Deal To Webcast Boston Marathon
Los Angeles-based World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), a venture backed firm providing sports programming and live event coverage, said Monday that the firm will webcast the 112th Boston Marathon. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to WCSN, the entire marathon wlil be available online, as part of the firm's $4.95 per month Marathon coverage. ORYXE Energy Gets Biodiesel Approval
Irvine-based ORYXE Energy, a venture-backed firm developing biodiesel additives, said Tuesday that the firm has received an approval from the state of Texas. ORYXE explained that the approval--the second from the state--allows the firm's additives to be used in the Texas Low Emission Disel Program (TxLED). ORYXE develops an additive which is used to eliminate NOX emissions from burning biodiesel. Disney Taps MobiTV For Mobile Television
Burbank-based Disney-ABC Television Group announced this morning that it has signed a content licensing agreement with Emeryville-based MobiTV, to provide the Disney Channel to MobiTV service subscribers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MobiTV will offer the same content and programming as Disney's cable and satellite television stations via wireless handsets. The firms said that the programming will be available through a dedicated channel, Disney Channel on MobiTV.

YouMail Adds Voicemail Transcription
Aliso Viejo-based YouMail, a provider of a third party, enhanced voice mail service, said today that it has added new voice mail transcription to its services. The firm said that users can now sign up for a beta of a service which will convert speech to text for delivery via email or text messaging. According to YouMail, the new service is currently available for free, and will be made generally available later this year. Alure Medical Raises $4.5M For Medical Devices
San Diego-based Alure Medical has raised $4.5M in a Series A investment, the firm said today, for its minimally-invasive, soft tissue lift devices and delivery systems. The company's medical devices are used for platic surgery. Investors in the firm included EDF Ventures and others. As part of the funding, Alure Medical said that it has added France Dixon Helfer as President and CEO of the company. The funding will go towards development and launch of its products.

JuiceCaster Gets Win With Tata
Los Angeles-based Juice Wireless, which develops a mobile social networking application called JuiceCaster, has scored a win with Indian mobile services firm Tata Teleservices. Tata Teleservices said this morning that it will be launching JuiceCaster in India to all of its subscribers. Financial impact and terms of the deal were not disclosed. D2 Technologies Adds Android Support
Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a provider of embedded software for the communications market, said this morning that it has added support for Google's open source Android platform. According to D2 Technologies, its mCUE client for mobile devices and handsets now ties into Google's open source mobile platform.
