Acutus Medical Closes Out Series B At $28M
San Diego-based minimally invasive, cardiac catheter developer Acutus Medical reported Tuesday that it has closed out its Series B funding at $28M. According to the company, the round was led by OrbiMed Advisors and GE Ventures, and also included existing investors Index Ventures and Advent Life Sciences. Acutus had announced the initial close of the round, which was worth $21M, back in June. Radical.FM Takes On Music Streaming For iOS
A Los Angeles startup has launched itself into the streaming music fray today on iOS, saying it has debuted an iOS version of Radical.FM, a new music streaming service offering up a catalog of 25 million songs--and including such artists as The Beatles, AC/DC, and Bob Seger. TubeStart Launches Crowdfunding Site For YouTube Projects
Have a great idea for a online video project, but just need a little funding for equipment, actors, or editing? A new, Santa Monica-based startup TubeStart, said today that it has launched its crowdfunding platform specifically for YouTube video content creators. ParkMe Extends Real-Time Parking To San Francisco

Boingo Wins Major New York Shopping Mall
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless continues to grow out its retail Wi-Fi footprint, reporting this morning that it has been selected by shopping center operator Forest City Ratner Companies, to manage free Wi-Fi at Forest City Ratner's high traffic Atlantic Terminal Mall in Brooklyn. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boingo said it will manage and operate the Wi-Fi network for consumers at the mall. PriceGrabber Buys Snapette
Los Angeles-based comparison shopping site PriceGrabber has acquired Snapette, the developer of a fashion-focused social website and mobile app. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Snapette develops a location-based shopping app, which features fashionable products from local retailers. According to PriceGrabber, it will use the acquisition to bolster its mobile e-commerce efforts and to reach fashion shoppers. Snapette says it currently has over 1.5 million users.

Ivantis Adds $5M In Series B Funding
Irvine-based Ivantis, a developer of medical devices used to treat glaucoma, has raised $5M more in its Series B funding, the company said this morning. The company said the second close on its funding was led by EDBI of Singapore, and brings its total Series B funding to $32.5M. Ivantis develops a stent device which lowers eye pressure in patients with glaucoma. Morphlabs Gets $10M More For OpenStack Efforts
Manhattan Beach-based OpenStack systems developer Morphlabs announced this morning that it has raised $10M in a Series D funding round, bringing the company's total raised to $22.5M. According to Morphlabs, the round was led by Tallwood Management and Entropy Research Lab, and also included G2iG. Morphlabs said the move will go towards expansion in Asia. Morphlabs develops a set of pre-configured and pre-integrated hardware and software for hosting OpenStack clouds.

Teledyne Technologies Acquires CETAC
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies has acquired laboratory automation and instrument developer CETAC Technologies, the company annoucned this morning. Financial details of the buy were not announced. CETA, which was headquartered in Omaha, Nebrasca, designs and manufactures automated sample handling and sample introduction equipment for the laboratory instrumentation market. DermTech Adds $5.6M For Skin Cancer Detection
San Diego-based DermTech, a biotechnology company which is developing technology for detecting skin cancer, has raised $5.6M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Jacobs Investment COmpany, and also included other, un-named investors. According to DermTech, the funds will go towards further development and laboratory accreditation efforts. DermTech is commercializing qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction) assays for skin samples, to identify gene targets to detect melanoma.
