OpenX Gets Carbon Neutral Certification

Pasadena-based advertising technology developer OpenX said it has been certified as "carbon neutral". According to Openx, that makes it the first ad exchange to be independently certified as carbon neutral, as part of the company's effort to a "more sustainable future." The company said that much of its efforts went through migrating all of its technology infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform, which it says helped reduce its carbon footprint by more than 90 percent; the company said it has "chosen to offset" the remainder of its emissions with projects that remove carbon from the atmosphere. Google says that its cloud operations are running on 100 percent renewable energy.
