Ticketmaster Buys Turkish Ticketing Firm
West Hollywood-based Ticketmaster, which is operated by Barry Diller's IAC/InterActiveCorp, said today that it is acquiring Biletix, a Turkish ticketing service. Financial terms were not disclosed. Ticketmaster said it would acquire the firm from founding partners the Koc Group and TAG Enterprises Limited. Biletix provides ticketing services to more than 400 venues and other clients in Turkey.

Yahoo Targets Foodies With New Food Site
Yahoo's Santa Monica operations said today that Yahoo is launching a new web site, Yahoo Food, focused on food information, celebrity chefs, recipes, and other content. The new site includes content from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Epicurious.com, Food & Wine, and other partners. The firm said that the site will include a user community around the topic of food, a comprehensive recipe search database, and social media and personalization tools. Private Equity Firm Buys Vision Solutions
Private equity firm Thoma Cressey Equity Partners announced today that it has acquired Irvine-based Vision Solutions, and Salt Lake City, Utah-based iTera. Financial terms were not disclosed. Thoma Cressey said that the acquisition will create a new firm focused on high availability solutions for IBM's System i products. Vision Solutions is a provider of high availability and data and systems management products. The new firm will oeprate as Vision Solutions.

eefoof Gets $225,000
San Diego-based eefoof, an online user-generated content and video site, has recieved $225,000 in a seed round from the Tech Coast Angels. eefoof operates a web site that has been billed a "YouTube Killer", which shares advertising revenue with people who post their videos to the web site.

MusicIP Gets Win At Disney
Monrovia-based MusicIP, a provider of music discovery and search technology, has scored a win at Disney for its embedded technology. MusicIP said Wednesday that Disney Consumer Products has licensed the firm's embedded technology to power a music mix feature on its portable media player line. MusicIP's MyDJ embedded technology will be used to create an instant playlists for the Disney Mix Stick music players. MusicIP's technology analyzes music characteristics to find music that people like.

Solarflare Appoints Krapf As VP
Irvine-based Solarflare Communications has appointed a new VP of Sales and Business Development, announcing yesterday afternoon that Russ Krapf has joined the firm in the new position. Krapf was most recently at ARIO Data Networks, where he was CEO and co-founder. Krapf has also served at JNI, Western Digital, and Seagate. Solarflare is developing physical layer chips for 10GBASE-T Ethernet networks.
