Apriso Raises New Funding
Long Beach-based Apriso, a provider of software for controlling manufacturing operations, said today that the firm has received a additional funding from its venture capital investors. The firm's investors include SAP Ventures, Wall Street Technology Partners, CMEA Ventures, Logispring, and Brentwood Capital. Apriso said that the funding will go towards product research and development, marketing, and sales. Amount of the investment was not disclosed.

Boost Rolls Out Social Mapping App
Irvine-based Boost Mobile Tuesday announced it had rolled out a new, location-based social mapping service, which allows mobile phone users to share their location with their friends. The firm said that it is tapping a startup, loopt, for the service. The service automatically shows the location of friends on a map displayed on Boost mobile phones and alerts users when friends are nearby. Snap Adds Search API
Pasadena-based Perfect Market Technologies, which runs the Snap.com search engine, said Tuesday that it has rolled out a new set of free services for web site and blog owners. The new Snap Anywhere services allows anyone to create their own pages that provide visual site previews using Snap.com's services, and also allows for creating custom searchs. Perfect Market said that the new services are aimed at allowing sites to take advantage of its preview and search capabilities.

MySpace Adds Live Music
Los Angeles-based MySpace.com announced today that it will add live music to the popular social networking web site, with the launch of two new live broadcast programs. The firm said that "MySpace LIVE!" and "Hey, Play This..." will offer its users live streaming music and interaction with bands; the MySpace Live! program will be sponsored by T-Mobile.

Sendio Upgrades Anti-Spam Appliance
Newport Beach-based Sendio, a provider of anti-spam security appliances, has upgraded the firm's appliances. The firm said that it has upgraded its I.C.E. Box appliance with a new desktop interface, integration with Microsoft's Active Directory, and better views of queued messages. The new 3.0 version of its product is available now. Sendio is developing anti-spam appliances based on sender address verification techniques.

WebSideStory Takes On Content Management
San Diego-based WebSideStory is taking on web content management with an upgraded analytics tool, the firm announced this morning. The firm said that it has integrated its HBX Analytics product with its on-demand web content management solutions, WebSideStory Publish. The integration allows marketers to use analytics information to help manage their web content based on visitor behavior. WebSideStory is a provider of web analytics and other tools for managing web sites.

Emulex Adds HBA Management For Microsoft Virtual Server
Costa Mesa-based HBA provider Emulex said Tuesday that it has rolled out new management software for managing host bus adapters in the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 environment. The new product, VMPilot, simplifies creation of virtual machines attached to Fibre Channel storage area networks. MindTouch Appoints CEO
San Diego-based MindTouch, a provider of business-focused wiki tools, said today that it has appointed Kenneth Liu as Chief Executive Officer. Planetwide Games Becomes Planetwide Media
Los Angeles-based Planetwide Games, developer of the Comic Book Creator software, said Tuesday that the firm has changed the name of its operations to Planetwide Media. The firm said the change of name reflects an increase in marketing its Comic Book Creator line of products.
