Gumiyo Raises Funding, Adds Pikover To Board
Woodland Hills-based Gumiyo has raised a second round of funding, the company is set to announce tomorrow. Financial terms of the funding were not disclosed, however Rich Abronson, one of Gumiyo's co-founders, said that Yuri Pikover has joined the company's board as part of the funding. Pikover was a co-founder of Calabasas-based Xylan, and also was CEO of Access 360. Pikover helped sell Xylan to Alcatel for $2B in 1999, and sold Access 360 to IBM in 2002. Amgen Spins Out Biotech Firm
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen has spun out a biotech firm from Ilypsa, the firm the company acquired in July this year. Relypsa, which is based in Santa Clara, California, said that Amgen will maintain a minority equity stake in the new company, which just garnered $33M in a venture financing. Amgen acquired Ilypsa in June for $420M in cash, for access to Ilypsa's treatments for kidney disease. Solarflare Gets $15M In Debt
Irvine-based Solarflare Communications has received $15M in a venture debt round, according to Hercules Technology Growth Capital. Hercules, which provides venture debt and equity to technology and life sciences companies, said Monday that the debt will go to augment Solarflare's sales and marketing efforts. DAVE Networks Taps Online Ad Provider
Los Angeles-based DAVE Networks, a provider of white labeled, video sharing and realted tools, has inked a deal with YuMe, a venture-backed video advertising network, for its ad sales. According to YuMe, which is based in Redwood City, it will sell and serve ads for DAVE Networks and its NEXT.TV peer-to-peer TV service. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Hyperfactory Gets Funding
Los Angeles-based The Hyperfactory said Monday morning that the firm has raised a "significant" round of funding from a number of entertainment industry angels. Terms of the investment were not disclosed. The firm, which develops mobile branding campaigns, said the funding will go towards a new entertainment division. Xoova Links With Medical Group
Santa Monica-based Xoova, a provider of Internet-based scheduling software for doctor's offices, said Monday that it has entered into an affiliation with the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Xoova said that the MGMA has added the company as an affiliate vendor, and that it will allow MGMA members to use its tools for free. DivX, deviantArt.com Partner On Video
San Diego-based DivX and Hollywood-based deviantART said today that the two have linked together on a project to provide videos in DivX format on deviantART.com's web site. DivX is a provider of video encoding and decoding technology; deviantART is an art-focused community site. According to the two companies, the new partnership allows deviantART members to upload and view video content ot the site. Financial and other details of the partnership were not disclosed.

Creative Display Systems Acquired By Intevac
Carlsbad-based Creative Display Systems, LLC, a manufacturer of micro-display products, has been acquired. According to Santa Clara-based Intevac, it has signed a definitive asset purchase agreement for Creative. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Occam Networks Completes Terawave Acquisition
Santa Barbara-babsed Occam Networks said Friday that it has completed its acquisition of the assets of optical networking hardware provider Terawave Communications. Occam said it paid $3.2M in cash, plus the cancellation of a bridge financing round, legal fees, and assumption of certain liabilities for Terawave. Occam had announced the acquisition in September.

724 Solutions Gets Win In Finland
Santa Barbara-based 724 Solutions, a developer of communications management products, said today that its products have been deployed by Elisa Finland, a telecommunications firm in Finland. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 724 Solutions said that Elisa Finland will use its Seamless Access Solution, a product that allows telecommunications firms to manage traffic from subscribers and content providers. 724 Solutions is owned by venture capital firm Austin Ventures.

D2 Technologies Announces Software, Partnership
Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a provider of software for mobile phones, has announced a new software product focused on providing VoIP to mobile phones. The company said that its VPort MP product now supports a number of voice-over-IP capabilities which are being used by mobile providers to link WiFi and cell networks.
